Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I posted about beauty and makeup.
Today I’m sharing my top 5 drugstore makeup essentials!
I love drugstore makeup, and as a teenager, most of my makeup was from those brands. As I’ve grown older, I’ve started using more high-end products, but I’m still loving drugstore brands. I particularly love discovering new products, but what’s better is my absolute ESSENTIALS.
These products have never let me down, and I’ve been using them for years. Have you tried any of them? What are your favorite drugstore products? Please connect with me on social media and let me know your thoughts in the comments down below!
5 Best drugstore makeup
These are the top 5 drugstore makeup that I’ve come to discover over the years. I’ve tried to evenly spread them over the face, lips, and eyes in order to keep this list to 5. I’ve got so many amazing drugstore products I love, it was tough to keep the list down!
But regardless, here we go:
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Unifiant Tinted Moisturiser
So my friends argue with me about whether La Roche-Posay is a drugstore brand or not. But I’ve been using this product for years and I always buy it at Boots – so I decided to include it! At £16.50, it’s just about justifiable as a drugstore – so please bear with me! It’s the most expensive product on this list but I promise – it’s worth it!
With only two shades, light or dark it doesn’t actually include much color variety. I use the lighter shade, but it’s such a light coverage that I’ve found it actually doesn’t matter that much that there are only two colors. Enriched with niacinamide, which is well-known for its anti-inflammatory and soothing effects, it’s a daily skincare product, and not actually marketed as a foundation at all!
Obviously, it has NO parabens and has been dermatologically tested for even the most sensitive skin, has no preservatives, soap, or lanolin. It’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, all of which are things I think are important for any product. It soothes sins and reduces inflammation to prevent red and brown pigmentation marks which can be left behind by spots. It is a daily get moisturizer, and also hides the appearance of spots and blackheads, and also controls shine. That’s why it’s also recommended for oily and acne prone skin.
I love this product because it acts as coverage but is actually just a daily moisturizer and keeps skin hydrated for 24 hours. Makeup without having to wear makeup!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Another face product I’ve been using for years, this one is only £3.99! This mattifying powder is absolutely incredible and SO versatile. My mom was the one who recommended this to me when I was a teenager, and I’ve never looked back. Also, she has great skin and always looks amazing!
The most common way I use this is as a setting powder. I get the shade 001-translucent. I load it up on a large, fluffy powder brush (currently loving the one I bought from Sephora) and apply it all over. If I’m going out for dinner or drinks after work, I also bring a travel brush and go over any shiny or oily areas of my face.
If I’m not bothered about using a liquid base, using a BeautyBlender gives a much heavier coverage, and is all I need for running errands. I absolutely adore this lightweight and versatile pressed powder, and just two days ago I think I bought probably my 15th+ powder!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Years ago, I was watching one of Zoella’s drugstore haul videos, and this product, in particular, stood out for me so I bought one for myself. For only £4, I wasn’t expecting much but I was so wrong! This is one of the easiest and most comfortable concealers out there. If I use this, I usually use this alone without foundation.
They claim that it stays on for 16 hours, but I’m yet to try out leaving makeup on for that long. The applicator makes it simple to use and gives the perfect amount of product for each use. You can also use this as an eyeshadow primer, and lighter and darker shades of it as highlighter or contour. It blends unbelievably well, my favorite way is to apply it with the applicator wand, and then blend with a beauty blender.
RRP: £4.19

Eylure Naturalites False Eyelashes
I used these lashes for a wedding, and I was amazed at how easy it is to apply. It’s also surprisingly light and comfortable to wear. For that particular event, I had these on for over 8 hours, in the Portuguese summer heat, and it didn’t budge! I also wear contact lenses and it wasn’t a problem at all.
The application is incredibly easy, and the lightweight lashes also look very natural, adding just the right amount of glamour. Since then, I’ve used them over and over and each time the wear has been just as good! I would say you can wear them up to around 5 times but make sure you clean and store them properly!
RRP: £5.50
Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm
This was one of my first makeup products I tried out, and definitely one of the first lip products which I fell in love with. I’ve been using it since I was a teenager, and it’s become even better since then! They have 10 colors available, personally, I love the light pink shades.
It’s a velvety matte finish and acts more like a lip balm than a lipstick. It’s so easy to reapply throughout the day and top up on the color. I love that it is a retractable chubby crayon. Super easy to carry around!
RRP: £7.99

I swear by the collection concealer as well! I really like the Urban Decay one but just can’t justify the cost when this does practically the same job.
