Welcome to my Gift Guide for Him – Christmas 2020 edition! I always find men harder to buy for than women. Do you have the same problem?
Whether it’s a gift for your dad, grandfather, or friends, I hope you can find something in my gift guide which resonates with you. Don’t forget to also treat yourself to a little something!
Having said that, please attach an extra dose of kindness and patience to every gift this year. More than ever, it’s so important to remind those around us that we care, they are loved, and that there will be better times ahead.
Let’s get started!

I bought this classic coffee maker for my Dad last year after I started using one last year. It’s made in Italy and is of great quality and easy to care for and clean. You can’t really go wrong with it, but make sure you don’t put it in the dishwasher.
One of our favorite addition to our new home this year. My boyfriend and I moved to Cambridge at the end of the summer and with reduced outings, we decided to treat ourselves to a coffee machine. One of the things we miss most about ‘normal life’ is being able to have a latte or cappuccino in the middle of the workday! This machine makes barista level lattes, and I can say that our latte art has also been improving! Perfect gift for any coffee lover.
Both my boyfriend and I have a Rains backpack, and we love them. The ultimate rainy day bag keeps everything dry and safe. We initially bought them for work (it rains a lot in the UK), but since we’ve both been working from home since the start of the pandemic, we use them on our weekend outings. I can safely say our bags have survived many forests and nature walks. It’s the ideal gift for anyone who doesn’t have a decent waterproof bag in their collection.
Just like the rains bag, this Stutterheim coat is a must-have, especially if you live in a rainy country. Even though it’s made of completely waterproof materials, it’s still very smart looking. No need to check the weather app before leaving the house. Get a UNIQLO ultra-light down to wear underneath, and you’re good to go for all seasons.
Starting to sense a theme with my recommendations! To be fair, it does rain a lot in the winter, and having a decent pair of waterproof shoes are a must. I’ve had my Timberlands for years now, and my boyfriend just bought himself a pair after getting fed up with having wet socks! Definitely worth the investment, and a great sustainable and long-lasting gift.
With lockdowns and reduced outdoor activities, it’s more important than ever to try and motivate ourselves to stay fit. I’ve had my FitBit for almost three years now, and this year it has been especially useful. The colder weather and ongoing pandemic make it extra hard to find the motivation to exercise, so FitBits are perfect to get that extra push of motivation.
Another gift I gave to someone in my life, exercise shoes is brilliant right now as we could all use the extra motivation with staying fit and keeping active. ASICS is a fantastic brand for running shoes, and I’ve heard back great things about this particular pair. Fantastic for anyone, but particularly for fitness lovers.
I’ve been a big fan of gifting useful and green products, and I love the idea of giving a really nice water bottle to someone. This double-walled stainless steel bottle keeps your water cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours. I love having a water bottle and use it every day even when I’m just staying home. It helps me keep track of my water intake, and reduce waste and washing up too! These S’well bottles are all vacuum insulated and made of stainless steel and are completely BPA free.
I bought myself these at the start of the pandemic in March, as did my boyfriend, and he bought a pair for my mom for her birthday. We love these so much, and back when we were at my parent’s house, everyone was wearing their own pair. It makes exercising so much easier, and now that we’re all spending a lot more time indoors, it’s great to just zone out and do your own thing!
And finally, one for the Beer lover in your life! I’ve been seeing these traditional style pint glasses everywhere recently. Although I personally do not drink beer, I find them much nicer than the standard pint glass. I really like the way they look, as well as the fact that they have a handle! This comes as a set of 4 and is sturdy and robust, and dishwasher safe. It even comes with a 2-year warranty so you can drink beers at home in style!
I really hope these items give you some inspiration or are what you are looking for, and that you enjoyed reading! As always, please let me know what you think and what you would’ve added to this list! I’d love to know if you do use any of these and what your thoughts are.
Remember to be safe, protect others, and promote kindness. Look after yourself during this particularly busy and stressful time. It can be a difficult time any year, but especially this one. Text a friend you haven’t contacted in a while. Reach out to a relative that lives alone. Share compassion this season.
Stay safe and see you in the next one,
