My first ever empties post!
I’ve been AWOL for around two whole months but I’m back with a post about some of my most used products which are unsurprisingly now empty.
Its rare for me to find a product and completely finish it as well as buy a top up = and these become my essentials 😀
Please let me know if you’ve used any of them and share any of your skincare favourites too!
This was one of the first skincare products I started to use regularly, introduced to me by my mom (who has the most perfect skin ever). I haven’t bought it recently but had this lying around, and have used it up. It has such a lovely soothing scent, and leaves skin really hydrated. I use this around my eyes and cheek area, where it can be particularly dry, before cleansing using my 2 step cleansing process, with water and foam.
This has quickly become one of my all time favourite cleansers, and its no surprise that I went through it at mega speed. It leaves my skin squeaky clean yet so soft, and has significantly reduced blemishes and redness. The formula is so gentle on my skin, yet also removes any excess make up that may be left over from my step 1 cleanse. I have extremely sensitive and dry skin, and this doesn’t leave my face dried out at all.
This is the CLINIQUE series of exfoliating toner, part of their 3-step skincare range. However, this is 1.0 which has no alcohol and made for dry to very dry skin types. This products leaves my face so soft and hydrated after cleansing, and is one of my favourite toners. Having said that, when my skin is feeling particularly sensitive, like on a super cold winter day or high UV summer day, it can leave my skin feeling raw and tingly and I prefer to steer clear of it. When my skin is feeling good though, this product is one of the best at keeping my skin glowing.
La Roche-Posay is one of my favourite drugstore brands, and I love that this toner is soap, alcohol, colorant and paraben free. This removes make up so efficiently and at the same time tones and hydrates any dry areas of my face. I use this before and after removing make-up, and its no surprise that it emptied out so fast. It feels particularly refreshing in hot weather, and leaves me feeling clean and cool.
This is a Japanese drugstore product, and I LOVE this moisturiser so much I actually have TWO empties of this from this half of summer already. Although I don’t think its available in-stores from the UK, there is international delivery on amazon! This moisturiser is my dry skin saviour. I hate the feeling of heavy, greasy and sticky moisturiser and this is so hydrating yet leaves skin so smooth to the touch as its absorbed quickly. A small amount goes a long way, and this is my go-to moisturiser which I use almost every single day.
I have used this moisturiser for so long for when my skin is feeling particularly dry, like before and after travelling, or in the winter. It is slightly more sticky/intense than the Curél moisturiser, but still is absorbed quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. I haven’t used it so much in the summer, and it has quite a strong scent, but I love it all the same for when my skin needs some extra love and attention.
This is my absolute go-to must have facial sun screen. Its my fourth (?) or so bottle and I’ve bought two more already for fear of running out! I can’t recommend it enough: it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling, it is smooth and absorbs quickly, and it works! In the summer I use SPF50+ and this formula will also protect you from UVA rays. It is especially formulated for sensitive and sun-intolerant skin so I would recommend it in particular to anyone who may have had a burning/tingly sensation with other sunscreens. As with all new products, be sure to test a small amount on an arm etc. before applying on your face to make sure you won’t have a reaction to it.
Thanks so much for reading, please leave a comment and share if you’ve used the same products or your favourites!
See you in the next one,
